Research
Fuber Research is the group’s research program in artificial intelligence.
Fuber Research
AI that understands thought.
Fuber Research is developing the AI for a neural interface designed to be implanted in the brain: a system that records the activity of neurons in the cortex, decodes it on the device and safely passes intent to a machine. The program is in its research and design phase.
Four workstreams
- RecordingElectrodes and low-power electronics.
- DecodingAI that reads intent.
- TransferWireless power and data.
- SafetyBiocompatibility, ethics and data.
Phase 0
Research and design
Under way
Where we are, where we are going.
- Phase 0Under way
Research and design
Literature review, decoding methods on open neural datasets, system architecture, and a safety and ethics framework.
- Phase 1Next
Decoder core
Offline decoder models on open datasets: cursor control and the intent to write first, then speech.
- Phase 2Planned
Bench prototype
Recording electronics and wireless transfer tested on a lab bench, without implanting anything in a living being.
- Phase 3Goal
Partnerships and approvals
Studies with academic and clinical partners. No study in living beings without ethics committee and regulatory approval.
This is a research program. There is no product, no clinical study and no medical approval.
